About the Journal
Cross-disciplinary Original Research in Education (CORE) is dedicated to advancing scholarly knowledge across diverse fields of education through interdisciplinary perspectives. CORE provides a platform for high-quality research that explores psychological, pedagogical, linguistic, administrative, and policy-related dimensions of education in both local and global contexts.
We encourage submissions that examine contemporary educational challenges and innovations, including but not limited to learning motivation, student anxiety, child development, Arabic language pedagogy, family engagement in education, educational governance, school leadership, vocational readiness, and primary education practices.
CORE will not accept research articles or manuscripts submitted for publication elsewhere. All submitted manuscripts will undergo rigorous plagiarism screening using advanced digital tools to ensure originality and academic integrity.
CORE does not publish book reviews, program evaluations, or descriptive reports that merely explain programs or personal experiences. Instead, the journal prioritizes empirical research, theoretical studies, and case analyses that offer meaningful contributions to educational theory, policy, and practice. Submissions must clearly demonstrate implications for educational development, innovation, or future research directions.

Peer Review Process
All manuscripts submitted to CORE undergo an initial editorial screening to assess alignment with the journal’s scope and overall academic quality. This includes evaluating relevance to key areas such as educational psychology, Arabic language education, educational policy, administration, and other interdisciplinary educational domains.
Manuscripts that meet the journal’s scope will proceed to a double-blind peer review process. The review process typically takes 4–6 months, allowing for comprehensive evaluation of both theoretical and methodological rigor.
Each manuscript is reviewed by two expert reviewers with relevant expertise. Reviewers are given 4 weeks to provide detailed feedback based on criteria such as:
- Originality and contribution to knowledge
- Theoretical and methodological rigor
- Relevance to educational practice and policy
- Clarity and academic writing quality
If there is a discrepancy between reviewers, a third reviewer will be assigned. All reviewers are required to maintain strict confidentiality and adhere to academic ethical standards.
Final decisions are made by the editorial board based on reviewers’ recommendations. Possible outcomes include:
- Accepted without revision
- Accepted with minor revisions
- Accepted with major revisions
- Rejected
Manuscripts deemed outside the scope of CORE will be rejected without external review, accompanied by constructive feedback for improvement.
Publication Frequency
CORE publishes four issues per year, ensuring timely dissemination of research across multiple educational disciplines.
Archiving
CORE utilizes the LOCKSS system to create a distributed archiving network among participating libraries, ensuring long-term preservation and accessibility.
Additionally, the journal integrates with digital preservation services such as CLOCKSS and Portico to safeguard scholarly content and maintain continuous access in the evolving digital academic environment.
Open Access Policy
Publishing in CORE is free of charge, supporting equitable access to high-quality educational research.
CORE provides immediate open access to its content, promoting global knowledge exchange and collaboration across educational disciplines. The journal adheres to the principles of the Budapest Open Access Initiative, which defines open access as:
“The free availability of peer-reviewed research literature on the public internet, permitting users to read, download, copy, distribute, and use the material for lawful purposes without financial or technical barriers.”
CORE supports the dissemination and reuse of research under the Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial-ShareAlike 4.0 International License, enabling knowledge sharing while ensuring proper attribution and non-commercial use.
